Good morning,

Chinese Gross Domestic Product figures were released overnight showing a decline as had been expected. Retail Sales also dropped, falling slightly below expectations at 10.2%, when a 10.9% reading had been forecast. Japanese Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization fell in February. USDJPY was trading at 119.60 Australia’s Unemployment figures are out in the coming Asian session. AUDUSD trading at 0.7593

The NIKKEI closed at 19869.76 after falling 38.92 points or down 0.20%

In Europe the European Central Bank will announce the updated Interest Rate decision. The market expects the rate to remain unchanged at the 0.05% level. ECB President Mario Draghi will take press questions following the rate announcement. EURUSD trading at 1.0611 at time of writing. Turkish jobless average for January and Budget Balance figures for March are out this session. USDTRY trading at 2.6948

The FTSE100 was trading at 7098.92 while the DAX was trading at 12274.58 early in the session.

US Markets today will see Capacity Utilization figures for March, along with Industrial Production figures for the same month. EIA Crude Oil Stocks change figures could have a bearing on USOIL pricing, which is currently selling at $55.56 per barrel. Canadian markets will see the Bank of Canada Interest Rate decision and statement this session. The rate is expected to remain unchanged at 0.75% USDCAD trading at 1.2505

The DOW closed at 18036.70 up 59.66 points or 0.33%
