FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS BY NSFX 18.09.2014

USDJPY is currently trading at 108.78 a level not seen since early September 2008 Bank of Japan’s Governor Kuroda is speaking this session, with figures released overnight seeing both exports and imports down from last August. New Zealand GDP came out slightly higher than expected at 3.9% NZDUSD is currently priced at 0.8101 ahead of the General Election which takes place tomorrow.

The NIKKEI was trading at 16067.57 up 178.90 points, an increase of 1.13%

The Swiss Interest Rate decision this morning saw the rate unchanged. The main story this week in Europe is the Scottish Independence Vote which takes place today. British Retails Sales figures are also published for August today. EURGBP is trading at 0.7907 Meeting minutes from the Bank of England shows that once again two members Martin Weale and Ian McCafferty again voted to raise rates.

The FTSE100 was trading at 6779.54 while the DAX was trading at 9694.72

US markets today will see housing starts figures, and building permits awarded for the month of August. The Jobles Claims figures for this month will be released at the same time, with the FED Chair Janet Yellen also due to speak shortly after the release of the figures. EIA Natural Gas Storage figures are also out this session. EURUSD is at 1.2884 while USDCAD was trading at 1.0990 at time of writing.

The DOW closed at 17156.85 up 24.88 points or 0.15%
