Good morning,

Bank of Japan’s Governor Kuroda is due to speak during today’s session. Japan has planned a corporate tax reduction in an effort to get companies to invest in Japan. Current Yen price sees GBPJPY trading at 173.74 with USDJPY trading at 101.90 With the current Japanese unemployment rate at 3.6%, corporate investment could bring that down further.

The NIKKEI was trading at 15349.42 at time of writing.

European Current Account figures and Italian Industrial figures are due out early in the European session. The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) meeting takes place in Luxembourg, with discussions will include talks on Lithuania adopting the Euro currency and double taxation within the Euro Zone. EURGBP was trading 0.7981 at time of writing.

The FTSE100 was at 6,823.16 up 15.05 or 0.22%while the DAX was at 9999.75

Canadian figures today will include the Consumer Price Index data and Retail Sales figures. Iraq fears has helped push the price of GOLD above the 1300 mark, with current price action at $1309 per ounce. USOIL was trading at $106.09 at time of writing. Going into the weekend there is no data of note due out in the US, currently EURUSD is trading at 1.3608

The DOW closed at 16921.46 up just 14.84 or 0.09%
