Japanese Markets will remain closed today for the Bank Holiday in respect for the older generation and will also remain closed tomorrow. USDJPY trading at 120.07 Chinese MNI Business Sentiment Indicator figures for August fell from 56.0 previously to 51.3 currently. Australia’s Housing Price Index will be released in the coming 24 hours. AUDUSD trading at 0.7178

The NIKKEI closed at 18070.21 when trading stopped last week.

In Europe today German Producer Price Index figures were out slightly lower than had been expected. EURUSD trading at 1.1306 Greek Election Results show that the ruling Syriza Party maintain their lead and hold onto power. Other figures out of Europe today, will include Poland’s unemployment figures for August, Spain’s Trade Balance figures and Current Account for both Greece and Portugal.

The FTSE100 was trading at 6122.77 while the DAX was trading at 9859.81 early in the session.

In Canada today Wholesale Sales figures for June are due out, later in the session Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz is scheduled to speak. In the US today we await existing home sales figures for August. USDCAD trading at 1.3217 USOIL is trading at $45.50 per barrel while GOLD is trading at $1139 per ounce.

The DOW closed at 16384.58 after dropping 290.16 or minus 1.74% from Thursday’s close.
