FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS BY NSFX 21.01.2014

Good morning,

Equities in Asia closed on positive territory: The Nikkei in Japan gained 154 points at 15,796 (+0.99%) and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong closed at 23,033.12 (+0.45%), up 104.17 points and in China the Shanghai Composite gained 17.06 points at 2,008.31 (+0.86%).  The People's Bank of China expanded loan facilities and brought 255 billion of yuan in the the financial system.

Equities in US yesterday were closed but futures today are trending positive: The S&P500 Future is trading at 1,839.5 (+0.29%), up 5.25 points and  Nasdaq Future is doing even better at 3,602.5 (+0.50%), up 17.75 points.

In Europe at 8:50 GMT Equities are up and the DAX in Germany is gaining 18.57 points  at 9,734.47 (+0.19%) and the FTSE100 in UK is at 6,842.75 (+0.09%), with a gain of 6 points.

In the currency market the EurUsd is at 1.3563 (-0.11%), down 14 pips and the UsdJpy is trading at 104.66 (+0.47%) up 30 pips. GbpUsd is losing just 3 pips at 1.6423 (-0.01%). Temporary breakout of the double top of  UsdChf  at 0.9125 (+0.3%), up 25 pips.

Precious metals are down this morning: Silver is struggling to stay above 20 $/ounce and is trading at 20.04 $/ounce (-1.27%) and Gold is losing ground as well but losing just 4.35$ at 1,248.85 $/ounce (-0.34%).

Today the ZEW survey regarding Current situations,expectations and economic sentiment will be released in Germany at 10GMT.  Important data for the Canadian dollar at 13:30 GMT will be the release of  Wholesale Sales. In US at 13:55 GMT will be the turn of Redbook index and then at 16:30 GMT the Auction of Treasury bills of 6 month and 3 month maturity.
