Good morning,

The National Australia Bank’s Business Confidence is at 0, a fairly neutral signal, but down from a reading of 2 for the previous quarter. AUDUSD trading at 0.7733 while NZDUSD trades at 0.7560 Chinese HSBC Manufacturing Purchasing Manager’s Index for April fell to 49.2 a fresh low year to date. Japanese Nomura/JMMA Manufacturing PMI fell to 49.7 from 50.3 previously. USDJPY trading at 119.83

The NIKKEI closed at 20187.65 gaining 53.75 points or 0.27%

In Europe this session we saw Swiss Trade Balance figures for March, with EURCHF trading at 1.0374 Markit PMI figures will be released for the Euro Zone, Germany and France this session. EURUSD trading at 1.0703 British Retail Sales figure for March will also be released this session. EURGBP trading at 0.7146 ahead of the data.

The FTSE100 was trading at 7016.37 while the DAX was trading at 11733.69 early in the session.

Across the Atlantic in the US today we await Jobless Claims figures, Markit Manufacturing PMI figures will also be released this session. Tomorrow we will see Durable Goods Orders figures for March. The figures tomorrow are expected to be a marked improvement on the previous reading. USDCAD trading at 1.2246

The DOW closed at 18038.27 on Wednesday, gaining 88.68 points or 0.49%
