Good morning,

Overnight New Zealand released Trade Balance figures which were better than had been expected. NZDUSD trading at 0.6692 Trading in Australia and New Zealand will close for the Easter weekend following this session. AUDUSD trading at 0.7502 at time of writing. Japanese markets will remain open and data releases scheduled will include Consumer Price Indices, Foreign Investment figures and Coincident Index figures. USDJPY trading at 112.78

In Europe today Norwegian and Danish markets are on shutdown, with German Import Price Index and the Gfk Consumer Confidence Survey going into April the first items on the agenda today. France's Business Climate figures and Sweden's Producer Price Index to follow, before Italian Industrial figures are out. Then British Retail Sales figures could buoy or further sink Sterling further with expectations of a contraction already priced in. GBPUSD trading at 1.4088 with EURGBP trading at 0.7925 The ECB long term refinancing operation figures out this session. Turkey will announce their Interest Rate today also.

In the US today the most recent Jobless Claims figures and Durable Goods Orders for February will be on the calendar today. Followed by the Markit Services PMI for March to the Baker Hughes Oil Rig Count finishes the scheduled data releases today. FED member James Bullard will speak today. The St. Louis Fed President gave an interview to Bloomberg recently where he discussed the meeting-by-meeting approach to monetary policy decisions, inflation expectations and his outlook for the economy also expressing his opinion that every FOMC meeting should have a press conference attached. USDCAD trading at 1.3265 while EURUSD trades at 1.1163 at time of writing.
