Chinese data over the weekend confirmed the weak state of the economy. Chinese stocks took another dive overnight with the Shenzhen Index down 6.66% and Shanghai Index down more than 2%. USDJPY trading at 119.91 while EURJPY trading at 135.58.

 

The S&P 500 was off by 0.48%. USOIL trading at 44.17 while Gold trading at 1,107.22.

 

Main release of today is euro area industrial production; European Monetary Union Industrial Production w.d.a. (YoY) above expectations (0.6%) in July: Actual (1.9%). In the UK left-wing Jeremy Corbyn took the reins of the Labor party. This could increase the risk of ‘Brexit’ as Corbyn has been an opponent of EU membership for many years. EURUSD trading at 1.1304 while GBPUSD trading at 1.5417.

 

European markets are lower today with shares in London off the most. The FTSE 100 is down 0.54% while France's CAC 40 is off 0.67% and Germany's DAX is higher by 0.08%. EURGBP trading at 0.7330.
