At 6.00 pm. GMT the US Federal Reserve will let us know its decision on the US base rate, its economic forecast with an accompanying announcement. United States Building Permits (MoM) registered at 1.17M above expectations (1.16M) in August. United States Housing Starts (MoM) came in at 1.13M, below expectations (1.17M) in August. US initial jobless claims fell by 11,000 to 264,000 in the week ended September 12, hitting its lowest level in 2 months. United States Current Account above forecasts ($-111.3B) in 2Q: Actual ($-109.7B). Philadelphia Fed’s Manufacturing Index falls to -6.0 in September. EIA: US Total Working Gas in Storage +73 Bcf. EURUSD trading at 1.1296 while USDCAD trading at 1.3195. USOIL trading at 46.96 while Gold trading at 1,117.74.

 

Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda expects Japan to continue moderate economic recovery. USDJPY trading at 120.90 while EURJPY trading at 136.57.

 

Switzerland's Central Bank on Thursday signaled it will keep interest rates negative for the foreseeable future and is not targeting a specific exchange rate for the "significantly overvalued" Franc against the Euro. Economic recovery in the Eurozone is expected to continue but at a slower pace than previously forecast due largely to a slowdown in emerging market economies and the consequent drop in demand for Euro area exports, the European Central Bank (ECB) said in its monthly bulletin published Thursday. United Kingdom Retail Sales ex-Fuel (MoM) is in line with forecasts (0.1%) in August. USDCHF trading at 0.9722 while EURGBP trading at 0.7277.
