Good Morning,

Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 224 points or 1.28% to 17.749.  Fed officials voted unanimously to raise the key federal funds rate the interest banks charge each other overnight to a range of 0.25% to 0.5%, up from near-zero for the first time since December 2008. A milestone in the Fed’s post crisis stimulus campaign ends a seven-year period in which the Fed held short-term rates near zero. The investors will look with favor on the decision to hike US rates. S&P 500 Index, which is tracked by the Vanguard 500 Index Fund Investor Class, rose by 1.45%. United States Building Permits (MoM) came in at 1.289M, above forecasts (1.15M) in November. USDCHF is trading at 0.9911 while USDCAD is trading at 1.3793.

AUD is steady on Wednesday, as AUDUSD is trading at the 0.7200 line. EURCAD is trading at 1.5035 while EURGBP is trading at 0.7268.

US interest rate increase is likely to cause ripples around the world, and could increase pressure on the UK to raise rates. GBPCHF is trading at 1.4861 while EURCHF is trading at 1.0806.
