Fundamental Analysis – 27/10/2015

Good Morning,

The EURUSD added 22 points to trade at 1.1040 recovering a bit after last week’s severe declines on ECB Draghi’s promise of stimulus come December. USDCAD turned nicely higher last week and it closed above 1.3075 which confirms a bullish price action in progress. Crude Oil added 18 cents at the open and has held flat since then at 44.78 while Brent Oil is flat at 48.00. US New Home Sales post larger than expected decline in September. New home sales fell by 11.5% to 468,000 annualized units in September 2015, thereby falling short of market expectations for a modest 0.4% drop. USDCHF is trading at 0.9838 while GBPUSD is trading at 1.5359.

The USDJPY dipped 37 points to move well above the top of its trading range as the greenback strengthened and traders prepared for the Bank of Japan meeting on October 30th. The AUDUSD added 30 points to trade at 0.7256 continuing to rally after the PBOC reduced its two prime lending rates. EURUSD is trading at 1.1047 while USDCAD is trading at 1.3151.

The GBPUSD declined last week, falling in sympathy with the weaker EUR. The EURGBP is trading at 0.7191 and remained flat for the session. Stronger business activity in France and Germany boosted figures for the Eurozone in October, but there was no sign of healthy price increases. GBPCHF is trading at 1.5099 while EURCHF is trading at 1.0864.
