FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS BY NSFX 22.12.2016

Good morning,
New Zealand's Gross Domestic Product figures were released for the third quarter along with Current Account figures. NZDUSD trading at 0.6917 at time of writing. Japanese figures released during the Asian session included foreign investment figures leading into a long weekend in the land of the rising sun, as they celebrate the Emperor's Birthday tomorrow. USDJPY trading at 117.68 at time of writing.
In Europe today the market opened with German Import Prices figures for November. Sweden will look at Retail Sales data from the same month, while Italy will revisit as far back as October when they dissect Industrial Orders figures and Retail Sales data. Very little else scheduled today, and markets are rapidly losing volatility towards the end of the year as traders are unwinding positions and taking some time off. EURUSD trading at 1.0445 at time of writing.
Across the Atlantic today we will see figures from both the US and Canada. US figures will include Consumption Expenditures, Jobless Claims, Gross Domestic Product figures, along with Durable Goods Orders data. Canadian Retail Sales figures and Consumer Price Index figures. USDCAD trading at 1.3431 at time of writing. USOIL was trading at around $52.50 per barrel while GOLD was trading at $1131 per ounce at time of writing.
